I did consider titanium when picking my rings last year but opted for white gold after speaking with our local jeweller. My husband went for titanium through as it’s really light and hardwearing which is good for his job. (and much cheaper lo!!) great article

New budding generation X’er love the multi-hued stones. Even in engagement rings, ring with gemstones are more popular. That what the latest trend says.

I totally agree that they are a dying trend nowadays & considered old fashioned, but me personally, I think they look great, especially on brides, I’m not married yet but I would definitely like my bride to wear one as it symbolises royalty & as weddings are considered to be the brides special day, the bride should be made to feel special & like a queen and I also like that there are so many different types of tiaras to suit the brides personality

Comment on The Spirit of Silver by Jewellery Monthly https://www.jewellerymonthly.com/the-spirit-of-silver/#comment-2992 Sat, 31 Jan 2015 22:04:00 +0000 http://www.jewellerymonthly.com/?p=8927#comment-2992 Hi Keith, thanks for your comments. I think it’s possibly simpler than you may think. Since the introduction of white metals and the popularity of Platinum and Palladium it’s more of look at our current trends towards fashion than the meaning behind the metal. To put it plainly White metal is just more fashionable than yellow gold.

Is silver a more feminine colour? Men I think tend to prefer gold. ‘ The silver apples of the moon/ The golden apples of the sun’. Silver is understated and it’s association with the night and the moon (the goddess Luna) would suggest its feminine attraction. What do you think?

That is, the diamond hasn’t been assessed by industry-recognised
laboratory.
1) Inaccurate –
currently there is not such a laboratory!

Customers are entitled to believe that the diamond they get is worth
what they are paying for it.’
2) What does this
mean??!!

A diamond’s value depends on four main characteristics – clarity,
colour, cut and carat.
3) This is just
a part of assessing the value. Other factors are very important too

So when either they receive it – had they bought it online – or come to
sell it, it’s clear the diamond is worth nowhere near what they have paid for
it.

4) On re-sale a Diamond
is never going to be worth the same. VAT, Mark up etc etc

Comment on Vivid Gold, a modern take on tradition! by Holyfire https://www.jewellerymonthly.com/vivid-gold-a-modern-trend/#comment-2968 Tue, 25 Nov 2014 10:33:00 +0000 http://www.jewellerymonthly.com/?p=2589#comment-2968 I think alternate colour golds would be awesome. I’m a male, so sadly wearing all this stuff wouldn’t match my gender.
But Id love to see girls wear this. It’d be a trend Id invest in.
Think everyone into jewellery would get into it
